Tyron Palace to celebrate Women's History Month
NEW BERN, Craven County - In honor of Women's History Month, Tryon Palace will hold a Lunch and Learn lecture on Friday to explore the struggle of women to earn the right to vote.
The program will focus on the women of New Jersey who first cast their ballots in 1776, and to the first national election on November 2, 1920, after the passage of the 19th Amendment. The event will begin at noon. Tickets are $6 dollars and free for Tryon Palace Foundation members.
