GREENVILLE, Pitt County - The lockdowns put on two Greenville schools Wednesday afternoon have been lifted.
A Pitt County schools spokesman says the schools were put on lockdown after students said they saw an armed man in the woods nearby.
According to Lt. Carlton Williams both Wintergreen Primary and Intermediate Schools were put on lockdown just after 12:30.
Greenville Police searched the area with K-9s. Students told a staff member they saw a man with a hand gun.
