Two arrested in assault on convenience store clerk
BEULAVILLE, Onslow County - A Beulaville resident and a St. Louis woman are charged in connection with an April 25 assault at a Scotchman service station in Jacksonville.
Jessie Hautman Jr., 32, is accused of attacking the service station clerk at the Scotchman's at 2347 Catherine Lake Road and has been charged with felony assault with inflicting serious bodily injury.
Steffi Bounds, 29, of St. Louis, was charged with felony conspiracy and misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
The 54-year-old clerk suffered a broken nose and head trauma, including brain bleeding, according to the Jacksonville Daily News.
Hautman remains in jail on an $80,000 bond, while Bounds has bonded out on her $7,500 bond.
