Two arrested, charged in 2014 Kinston murder

KINSTON, Lenoir County - Kinston Police announced the arrest of two men in a murder case from 2014.

Dedrick Deon Dail Jr., 24, of Kinston and Lockwood Morris Perry Jr., 28, of Dover, were arrested Tuesday for the shooting death of Devon Wayne Jones, 28, of Kinston. They were each charged with first degree murder. Back on June 23, 2014, police responded to the 700 block of Dixon Street to a report of shots fired. They found Jones suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.

Dail was served with the warrant at the Lenoir County jail where he is currently being held on an unrelated charge of attempted murder form a shooting incident which occurred in Kinston on August 10, 2017. Dail remains in custody without bond. Perry was arrested without incident at his residence in Dover by members of the Kinston Police Department and the US Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force. Perry was placed in the Lenoir County Jail without bond.
