Trial for woman accused of castrating man with her teeth delayed again
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - A Jacksonville woman accused of castrating her boyfriend by biting and permanently disfiguring a man's testicles had a trial delayed again after it was slated for Tuesday.
Martinne Delavega is facing felony counts of malicious castration and assault causing serious bodily injury in connection with the September 2015 incident.
The 51-year-old rejected a plea deal offered in October 2016. The Onslow County Sheriff's Office did not name the victim so as to protect the individual's privacy.
The trial was initially slated on court calendars to begin on Sept. 5, but was pushed back. Officials expect a one-to-two week delay, but no firm date has been given. It was first scheduled last October.
