Trenton man behind bars for Pollocksville armed robbery
POLLOCKSVILLE, Jones County - A Trenton man is behind bars for robbing a Pollocksville home Monday.
Jones County Sheriff Danny Heath says his deputies responded to an armed robbery call on Larry Avenue in Pollocksville. When they arrived, the homeowner told deputies he came face to face with at least two suspects armed with guns in his home.
Deputies apprehended Billy Murrell, 31, of Trenton. Murrell faces four felony charges including robbery with a dangerous weapon, breaking and/or entering, larceny of property and possession of a firearm by a felon. He is in the Jones County Jail under a $90,000 bond.
With the help of the Maysville Police Department and a K-9 unit from the New Bern Police Department, some of the stolen items were recovered. Sheriff Heath said the investigation is ongoing. Additional suspects and charges may follow.
