HOOKERTON, Greene County - A Family Dollar tractor trailer truck crashed Friday morning in Hookerton.

The accident happened around 9:45 a.m. at the intersection of Hwy. 123 and Oakes Road in Hookerton, according to Frank Simmons, who took photos along with Patricia Simmons. She said in a Facebook post the vibration from the crash smashed the glass front door of the house where the truck crashed.

Officials told NewsChannel 12's Erik Randlov the driver lost control of the truck and jack-knifed into the ditch in front of the home. The driver wasn't injured and the truck appeared to be a total loss.

The road, which was closed for clean up and to investigate the cause of the accident, was expected to open up by 2:30 p.m.

The Highway Patrol and other officials were on the scene assisting and investigating the accident. They believe rain and excessive speed were contributing factors.
