Tiebreakers Sports Bar and Grill is offering free appetizers

GREENVILLE, Pitt County - Tiebreakers Sports Bar and Grill in Greenville is taking a stand on the recent controversy over NFL players taking a knee during the National Anthem.

According to the restaurant's Facebook page, everyone who stands and places their hand over their heart during the National Anthem will receive a free appetizer on Sunday, October 1.

The news comes with some backlash in the post's comments section.

In response, the restaurant's owner took to Facebook to back the decision.

Tiebreakers Sports Bar and Grill is located at 1920 Smythewyck Dr. in Greenville. It is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Sundays.
