Suspect tries to grab gun from bailiff in court

JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - A man accused of first-degree murder in 2014 allegedly tried to take a gun from a bailiff in court last Thursday.

The Daily News in Jacksonville reports Joshua Cross was taken into Onslow County Superior Court without handcuffs, which is standard procedure. Cross then tried to take the gun from a bailiff's belt.

The newspaper said the bailiff was able to protect the gun from Cross' grip and subdue him. Cross was taken back to jail. He is likely to face additional charges from the incident.
