Suspect arrested for shooting, killing man in Kinston
KINSTON, Lenoir County - A 29-year-old man was arrested for shooting and killing a man in Kinston last year.
On Monday, January 25, 2016, Kinston Police Officers responded to the 800 Block of Dixon Street to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they located a residence in the area that had been stuck multiple times, officials said in a press release.
After responding to the shots fired, a vehicle stop was conducted by responding units on the 800 Block of Williams Street.
Deonta Malik Dudley, age 19 of Kinston, was found within the vehicle and was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Dudley was subsequently transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC where he died from his injury.
The case has remained under investigation by members of the Kinston Police Department since that time.
On Monday, December 04, 2017, investigators obtained a warrant for the arrest of Dion Ramon Hall, 29, for murder charges.
Hall was arrested at the Lenoir County jail where he is currently being held on unrelated charges. Hall will be returned to the Lenoir County Jail upon completion of standard processing procedures.
This case is still under investigation.
