Storms cause outages across ENC

As storms churn through our area, tearing down trees and power lines, many are seeing power outages.

According to Duke Energy as of 11:00 p.m., many counties in our area are experiencing outages:

Craven County: 105 Customers out

Jones: 17 Customers out

Beaufort County: 825 Customers Out

Pamlico: 64 Customers Out

Pitt County: 0 Customers Out

Duplin County: 77 Customers Out

Lenoir County: 43 Customers Out

Onslow County: 3 Customers Out

Wayne County: 13 Customers Out

Duke Enegery estimates that the majority of customers should have their power restored around by 12:30 a.m. Craven County customers are expected to have their power back by 4:00 a.m.

Tideland Electric also issued a statement about the outages.

They are seeing many outages in the Grantsboro area.

On call crews On-call crews responded to reports of a fallen tree that tore down power lines in the Walker Rd area of Aurora at 4:30 pm At 4:50 pm a much larger outage occurred on the Merritt circuit affecting 1,618 members in Bayboro & Oriental.

At 5:09 pm a smaller outage was reported in the Howells Rd area of Arapaho. At 5:30 p.m. another outage was reported at Canady Landing in Aurora affecting 21 members.

They also reported a broken pole on Idalia Road.

At 7:00 pm, Fairfield Harbour Circuit #1 locked out affecting 977 members in Reelsboro, Broad Creek Rd area and Fairfield Harbour.

All Tideland EMC Grantsboro crews have been called in to respond to the numerous outages.
