Snow Hill home heavily damaged by Sunday fire

SNOW HILL, Greene County - A house in Snow Hill is severely damaged and a family is homeless after a fire Sunday afternoon, fire officials said.

The Snow Hill Fire Department reported it responded to a structure fire around 3:30 Sunday afternoon, arriving to heavy flames coming from the roof of a residence. The department said firefighters were able to get out some personal items for the family living in the home, located on Patrick Drive, but the structure still received "significant" damage.

The local chapter of the Red Cross is assisting the victims. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
