Skeletal remains found in Md. in 1984 identified using fingerprint technology at Quantico

QUANTICO, Virginia (WJLA) - The skeletal remains of a man found in 1984 have been identified at an FBI Laboratory in Quantico with the use of advanced fingerprint technology, Prince George's Police announced on Wednesday.

According to police, the remains were identified as Bennett Louis, 27, a former Marine who was living in Jacksonville, North Carolina at the time of his death. Officials say he was originally from New Roads, Louisiana. The family of the deceased told authorities they're not sure why he was in Maryland in 1984.

The remains were found by a man and his son while they were walking in a wooded area of the 12000 block of Baltimore Avenue.

Officials say the 27-year-old had been shot multiple times. His remains were estimated to have been in the wooded area for up to three months.
