Run For The Warriors set for Saturday

JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - The 12th annual Run For The Warriors is set for Saturday morning in Jacksonville.

The race includes the half-marathon, 10K, 5K and 1-mile runs. The event kicks off at 7 a.m. at Jacksonville High School.

The City of Jacksonville is advising residents there will be traffic delays as a result of the result. Specifically, residents in the Northwoods, Gum branch and Elizabeth Lake areas should expect delays Saturday morning due to lane closures on some roads between 6 a.m. and noon.

City officials say residents will not be blocked from entering or exiting their homes, but show allow for extra time while runners pass across certain areas. Residents and visitors should call the Police Administrative Line 910 455-4000 if they have any issues or the Run for the Warriors Headquarters Line at (910) 381-8272.

All proceeds from the race benefit the Hope For The Warriors nonprofit, which is "dedicated to restoring a sense of self, family, and hope for service members, their families and the families of the fallen."
