Road rage incident turns violent, shots fired

A road rage incident turned violent on Sunday night after a driver began shooting at another driver.

The Jacksonville Police Department is now investigating the incident, which occurred just after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 11, in the area of Huff Drive and Suffolk Circle.

The victim was driving on Huff Drive when a silver four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota, began tailgating him. The victim slowed down and, when the car started to pass, sped back up again.

The vehicle attempted to pass a second time. The driver, only identified as a black male with a slim build, then began firing at Almalik. Almalik, and his vehicle, were hit several times.

The victim drove himself to Onslow Memorial Hospital for treatment. His injuries were non-life threatening and he remains in fair condition at the hospital.
