Retired Marine to challenge Speciale in Republican primary for NC House
NEW BERN, Craven County —
A retired Marine announced Monday he will challenge N.C. House District 3 representative Michael Speciale in the 2018 Republican primary.
Eric Queen is a New Bern resident and retired U.S. Marine Bronze Star recipient. He has lived in New Bern for 21 years and served in the Marine Corps for 14 years as a military police officer and seven as an infantryman. Queen was at Cherry Point for seven years, including his final duty station serving as Military Police Services Chief.
"I believe the voters in Eastern North Carolina are ready for change and want to put a common-sense Conservative in the General Assembly," Queen said in a press release. "It is time to elect a representative that has beliefs and priorities that are actually in line with the voters he or she will represent."
Queen and his wife, Carrie, married in 2000. They have three children. To learn more about his campaign, click here.
