Public forums to discuss alligator management plan
The N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission and the Alligator Task Force will hold six public forums in June concerning alligators.
The forums will be held to present a draft on the N.C. Alligator Management Plan and receive public input. Three of the forums will be in eastern North Carolina. One will be in Jacksonville on June 15 while the others will be in New Bern (June 20) and Washington (June 21).
The draft provides biological information on alligators in our state. It also identifies where alligators may be overpopulated and offers solutions to gator problems.
The NCWRC already has in place a campaign to get photos of alligators that is being used to help with the process.
