Program aims to provide books for young children all over state
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - Your child can now get a new book mailed to your home every month.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides books to children ages 0-5 in almost every county in North Carolina. Onslow County is expanding the program to include 10,000 children. All you have to do is register your child.
"When you register, it's not cost to the family because of the support of the general assembly but children will receive a book every single month mailed directly to their home with their name on it and it's always age appropriate and a brand new book," said Lisa Davis, Early Learning Coordinator for Onslow County Partnership for Children.
Davis said the Onslow County Partnership for Children hopes to have at least 2,000 children registered by Tuesday.
