Deputies identify suspect who robbed store with AR-15

NEW BERN, Craven County - The Craven County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect they said robbed a convenience store Thursday night using an AR-15.

Nigel Bryant Grady is charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and two felony counts of second degree kidnapping. Officials were looking for two suspects but Investigative Sgt. Mike Sawyer said one of the suspects was interviewed and released.

Grady's last known address was 1028 Main Street in New Bern.

Officials said the robbery happened at 10 p.m. at the Beech Grove Fuel Market, located at 920 Washington Post Rd. in New Bern. The suspect was armed with an AR-15 assault rifle and was carrying a black book bag. According to staff, Grady demanded money from the register and several packs of Newport cigarettes.

Grady was described as a black male, 6-foot-0 with a slim build. He possibly had dreads but was wearing an Army sweatshirt and red bandana. He was also wearing black pants and red shoes.
