Pitt County Sheriff's Office to 'swear in' two mini horses
GREENVILLE, Pitt County - The Pitt County Sheriff's Office will be doing something fun while helping out a good cause.
Two mini horses will be sworn in as new deputies during a ceremony in Superior Courtroom No. 2 at 1 p.m. on Thursday in Greenville. Deputy Sammy and Deputy Gunner are therapy horses which will be doing public service as part of the Building Bridges Program.
The program partners the sheriff's office, Rocking Horse Ranch and East Carolina University. The two new "deputies" will help those who have suffered through traumatic incidents.
