HOBUCKEN, Pamlico County - The Pamlico County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man wanted in connection with a string of batteries and other boating supplies stolen from boats in the Goose Creek Island Community.

Sheriff Chris Davis reports Troy R. Godwin was charged with 13 counts of larceny and one count of breaking and entering. He was placed in the Pamlico County Jail under a $35,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is Friday.

The PCSO has had numerous reports of the battery thefts over the last several weeks in the area that covers Hobucken and Lowland. Interviews were conducted and evidence was collected that pointed toward Godwin as the suspect. When Godwin was arrested, there were around 20 batteries recovered.

Davis said he believes there are more victims that have yet to report battery thefts.
