Onslow County Sheriff's Office make arrest in shooting investigation

JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - Onslow County Sheriff's office investigators have made an arrest in a shooting that happened Monday.

Officials said Shawn Sturdivant, 49, was arrested in a shooting that happened on Monday at around 4 p.m. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a deadly firearm, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. His bond is set at $750,000.

Sturdivant made his first court appearance Tuesday. Cameras were not allowed in the courtroom and Sturdivant appeared before a judge via video conference.

Joshua Lindauer, 33, was the man shot at the home, located on March Lane near Piney Green Road. He was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Officials said Lindauer was shot by Sturdivant after the two got in an agrument.

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating after a shooting sent one person to hospital.

NewsChannel 12's Resita Cox said the person was airlifted to a local hospital but it was unclear which one. The victim was alive at last report. Police had crime tape around a home in the Piney Green Road area, near Hunters Creek Middle School.

Officials said they received a call about the shooting around 4 p.m. Monday.
