Onslow County man pleads guilty to killing construction worker

JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - An Onslow County man will spend 9-13 years in prison for killing a construction worker with his car and injuring two others in 2015.

Marvin Jackson of Jacksonville pleaded guilty to one count of felony death by motor vehicle, two counts of felony serious injury by motor vehicle and driving while impaired. The crash happened in June of 2015.

Jackson was driving on Rocky Run Road early in the morning when he ran off the road and hit three construction workers. Jesus Morales, 57, died. Two others were seriously injured.

N.C. State Troopers said Jackson left the scene but was caught a short time later. Jackson blew a .10 when he was arrested. The legal limit is .08.
