JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - One man is under arrest while another remains on the loose following a break in at a home in Onslow County, authorities said.

Onslow County Sheriff's Office is looking for David Brinson after a woman, Alicia Lanier, turned herself in to authorities on Tuesday. Lanier was charged with obtaining property by false pretense and conspiracy to obtain property by false pretense. Her bond was set at $5,285, unsecured, for those charges and an outstanding warrant from 2016 for failure to comply.

The pair are wanted in connection with a break-in at a home on Gum Branch Road in Jacksonville on April 28. Officials say they caught a break in the case when some of the stolen property was sold to a local business and the transaction was recorded on surveillance video.

Lanier, 37, of Maple Hill, maintained her innocence on Facebook, saying she didn't know the property they were selling was stolen.

Brinson, 34, also of Maple Hill, is wanted in connection with the break-in, the sale of stolen goods and other outstanding charges. He is currently on probation following felony breaking and entering charges from 2016.

Anyone with information about the case or Brinson's whereabouts is encouraged to call Det. Charles Crites at (910) 455-3113, email or call Crime Stoppers at (910) 938-3273 and reference case number 2017-7099.
