One woman's mission brings museum closer to reality
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - The Carolina Museum of the Marine is still in development in Jacksonville.
It will eventually be a permanent place to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Funds are still being raised to build the building at Lejeune Memorial Gardens and there are thousands of donated items ready to be put on display. It's all through the hard work and vision of one woman to go through each and every one and tell their story. Brian North spoke to Lisa Potts about her mission to catalog each item and get it ready for the Carolina Museum of the Marine. The museum will be built once more than $20 million in donations is collected. Click on the above video to learn more and see North's story on Potts and her efforts.
