One suspect arrested, another wanted in weekend robbery

WASHINGTON, Beaufort County - Washington Police arrested one person and is searching for another in a robbery that happened Saturday afternoon.

Tashombee Keishawn Jones, 24, of Pierce Street and Jaquan Tremel Jones, 22, of East 11th Street were suspects in a robbery that happened at around 2:45 p.m. on the 600 block of Hudnell Street. Police said two suspects approached a victim, displayed a firearm and took an undetermined amount of cash.

One of the suspects fired a shot into the ground before running away. Tashombee Jones was taken into custody shortly after the robbery. He was charged with armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. He was currently out on bond pending a Superior Court trial for conspiracy to traffic opium and possession of five or more counterfeit instruments. He is now in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.

Jaquan Tremel Jones is still at large. Warrants have been obtained on him for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
