Deputies continue investigation into shooting death near Kinston

KINSTON, Lenoir County - The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a shooting that killed a man on Monday.

Lenoir County Sheriff Ronnie Ingram said a man and other residents were exiting a mobile home near the intersection of William Loop Road and US 11 South when the shooting took place. Titus Taft was shot and later died at Lenoir UNC Health Care in Kinston.

Ingram says gun shots from an unidentified assailant were fired at the home around 8 p.m. Monday. Taft's home was also shot at within the past two weeks and officials are not certain whether the two incidents are connected.
