One arrested in shots fired incident; two others arrested on drug charges

KINSTON, Lenoir County - The Kinston Police Department has arrested a man in a shots fired incident. Two others who were with him at the time were arrested on drug charges.

According to a press release, Kinston Police responded to a call of shots fired at around 2:42 p.m. on Thursday at 1104 Pollock St. The victim, Rashid Oneil, told officers his vehicle was shot at while pulling into the U.S. Mini Mart, located at 1404 Old Snow Hill Road.

Warrants were obtained for Kobe Sheppard for possession of a firearm by a felon and discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle. On Friday shortly after noon, Sheppard was arrested near the 27 building of Simon Bright. He was also charged with attempted murder possession of a firearm by a felon, discharging a firearm into a moving, occupied vehicle and p Possession of schedule VI (marijuana). He was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under no bond.

Also arrested were Coryontae Mills and Marquis Deshawn Williams, who were with Sheppard at the time of the arrest. Mills was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI (marijuana) and had a $15,000 secured bond. Williams was charged with trafficking opium or heroin, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession with intent to sell and deliver schedule VI (marijuana) and maintain a vehicle for controlled substance. he was held under a $300,000 secured bond.
