Officials: Fugitive in jail on $1.3 million dollar bond
KINSTON, Lenoir County - Law enforcement officials arrested a Kinston man on Monday who was found hiding in a bathroom.
Members of the United States Marshals Eastern District Violent Fugitive Task-force arrested Christopher Deon Jones, according to a release sent out by the Kinston Police Department. Jones was arrested at around 8 a.m. at 3205 Crestwood Drive in Kinston. He was arrested for the March 12 shooting incident at 110 West Blount Street. (J's Place). Mr. Jones was found hiding in the bathroom.
Two handguns were discovered along with marijuana and drug paraphernalia as well. One of the handguns was found to be stolen from Tampa, Fla.
Jones was arrested and charged with the following:
March 12, 2017 -- Shooting into an occupied vehicle, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
March 20, 2017 -- Possession of a firearm by a felon (2 counts), possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia
Jones was placed in the Lenoir County Jail under a $1,325,000 secured bond.
