No serious injuries in school bus-involved crash
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - An Onslow County Schools bus was involved in an accident early Friday morning, but no serious injuries resulted from the crash.
No children were on board the bus at the time of the crash, authorities say.
At 6:08 a.m., Jacksonville Pubic Safety responded to a multi-vehicle crash on Gum Branch Road and Indian Drive.

A 2009 Pontiac, driven by Christopher Shepard, 29, of Jacksonville, was traveling northwest on Gum Branch Road toward Sandy Drive. A 2012 Mazda, driven by Norelle Hinckley, 44, of Jacksonville, was traveling southeast on Gum Branch Road toward Henderson Drive and stopped at the light. According to JPS spokesperson Beth Purcell, the Pontiac ran the red light, striking the school bus's front right corner. The bus then collided with the Mazda. Hinckley was taken to Onslow Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Shepard was cited for failure to reduce speed and a stop signal violation.
