SNOW HILL, Greene County - The Snow Hill Police Department announced on its Facebook the yield signs at the intersection of Hwy. 58 and SE Second Street have been replaced with stop signs.

The intersection sits near the the Speedway gas station. According to the department, there were 12 crashes there over a 24-month period. A request was made for the change, which was fulfilled by the N.C. Department of Transportation.

Police will be enforcing the intersection and monitoring traffic with the new stop signs. Officials hope this will curb the number of accidents in that area.
