NEW BERN, Craven County - The new Craven-Pamlico Animal Services Center in New Bern is slated to be finished by the end of the month, according to the New Bern Sun-Journal.

The 4,700-square foot facility will boost the animal shelter's capacity for housing dogs. Staff will begin moving animals into the new facility in the weeks ahead. Once that transition is completed, renovation work can begin on the old animal shelter building.

Upgrades to the old facility will include enhanced customer service space, along with expanded housing for cats and other small animals.
