NEW BERN, Craven County - Gators were a big hit last Friday.

Remember the Facebook Live video and story we had on the gator capture in the Riverdale Community of Craven County? We had a chance during Monday's news to speak with Chris Kent, District 2 Wildlife Biologist with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. He was one of the people who helped capture the gator.

NewsChannel 12's Brian North spoke with Kent in studio about capturing the gator, why it was necessary and what you can do if and when you see one where you live.

The most important thing is to call wildlife officials if you encounter or see one of these alligators. Call the 24/7 hotline in Raleigh (1-800-662-7137) or visit their website.
