NC NAACP makes push to free Dontae Sharpe
RALEIGH - The North Carolina NAACP made a push to free Dontae Sharpe on Wednesday.
Sharpe is the Greenville man who has now spent more than half his life in prison for a crime he says he didn't commit. The NAACP held a news conference Wednesday at Bicentennial Mall in downtown Raleigh.
The group then marched to Gov. Roy Cooper's office, where they called for the governor, the state attorney general and the Pitt County district attorney to use their power to free Sharpe.
