Multiple teens arrested after stealing car to use in armed robbery
NEW BERN, Craven County - Multiple teenagers have been arrested after officers discovered they stole multiple vehicles, using one of them to complete an armed robbery.
The Craven County Sheriff's Office sent out a press release on Thursday, November 2, detailing the events that led to the arrests and the teens' subsequent charges:======
On October 29, 2017, Officers responded to Biddle Road in reference to larceny of a motor vehicle. The victim later located their vehicle in a field on Biddle Road.
On October 30, 2017, Officers responded again to the same vehicle stolen again. Once again the vehicle was located in a ditch on Biddle Road.
On October 31, 2017, Officers responded to another vehicle theft on Biddle Road from a different victim. A Toyota Camry was stolen and driven to Duplin County where it was used in an armed robbery on the same day.
The investigation began on October 29, 2017 and led investigators to 365 Biddle Road. Investigators with the Craven County Sheriff's Office and Duplin County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on that residence on November 1, 2017. As a result of the investigation and search warrant execution, several arrests were made.
Sage Usher Oleskey,age 18, of 365 Biddle Road, Dover, N.C., is charged with 4 Counts of felony Breaking and Entering of motor vehicle, 3 counts felony larceny of motor vehicle and 2 counts of larceny. Oleskey is also being charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Second Degree Kidnapping in Duplin County.
Sharail Myquail-Rashod Swindell, age 19, of 365 Biddle Road, Dover, N.C. is charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Second Degree Kidnapping in Duplin County.
Jada Rose,age 20, of 365 Biddle Road, Dover, N.C. is charged with Robbery With A Dangerous Weapon and Second Degree Kidnapping in Duplin County.
Tanaya Swindell, age 16, of 365 Biddle Road, Dover, N.C. is charged with 4 counts of felony Breaking and Entering Motor Vehicle, 3 counts Larceny of Motor Vehicle and 2 counts of Larceny.
