BATH, Beaufort County - Multiple suspects were arrested after officials spent close to two months investigating an unsolved robbery.

A representative with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office sent the following press release detailing the investigation and arrests that followed:

On Friday evening, September 29, 2017 Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to the armed robbery of the White Post Store on Hwy 92 in Bath. The clerk on duty at the time of the robbery told Deputies an unknown white male entered the store just before closing, pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The suspect who was in the store for less than 2 minutes took an undetermined amount of cash fled on foot in an unknown direction.

With very little evidence pointing to the identity of the suspect, the case went unsolved for almost 2 months. Acting on that tip members of the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Narcotics and Criminal Investigations Units conducted surveillance on the suspect and 3 other associates. While conducting surveillance Investigators were able to arrest the suspect and one of his associates for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

During interviews with the other 2 associates, Investigators gained enough evidence to charge Christopher Paul Dempsey Jr, age 28 of Washington with 1 count of Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon, 1 count of Conspiracy, and 1 count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Dempsey was ordered held on a $51,000.00 secured bond. Crysta Lyann Lusk, age 24, Gene Kelly Foster Jr. age 40 and Kathy Darlene Davidson, age 45 were all charged with 1 count each of Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy. Lusk, Davidson and Foster were all held on a $15,000.00 secured bond.
