JAMES CITY, Craven County - A multi-car wreck on US 70 caused traffic to be rerouted Friday afternoon near the Carolina Colours Golf Club.

The wreck occurred shortly before 1 p.m. NewsChannel 12's Nicole Griffin reported from the scene that a woman was taken by ambulance to CarolinaEast Medical Center in New Bern and that a car involved in the wreck was badly damaged.

Witnesses said a Chevy truck ran into the back of a Nissan Altima, badly damaging both vehicles. They said the driver of the car looked in their rearview mirror and saw the truck coming out of nowhere.

At least seven emergency response vehicles were at the scene. The identities of those involved have not been released by Highway Patrol.
