McDonald's customers to receive letters for donations

GREENVILLE, Pitt County - McDonald's customers who visit one of 47 participating restaurants will receive a letter of thanks starting June 2 and every first Friday of a month after through the end of 2017.

The letter of thanks will come from a local family who stayed at the Ronald McDonald House in Greenville while their child was in the hospital. It's part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of NC Letters program. Families will have the chance to thank customers who purchase Happy Meals or french fries or just leave change in a donation box. "The families that stay at the Ronald McDonald House are going through one of the hardest times in their lives," said Dulcy Purcell, McDonald's owner/operator in New Bern. "We want our customers to know how much their support means and how they help keep families close."
