Man arrested for stealing guns, charges on second suspect pending
BAYBORO, Pamlico County - One man is facing charges after four guns were stolen.
Trever Scott Hanel was charged with four counts of larceny of a firearm and one count of felony breaking and entering. Hanel was placed in the Pamlico County Detention Facility under a $27,000 bond.
Deputies said they responded to a breaking and entering call on Oct. 13. It was discovered in the investigation that four guns were stolen. With help from the Craven County Sheriff's Office and the Bridgeton Police Department, Hanel and another suspect, Amanda Gray Hardison, were identified as suspects.
Hardison is awaiting charges, pending completion of the investigation. Police said she is responsible for pawning two of the guns at a shop in Craven County. The other guns were traded for heroin in the Spring Garden area of Craven County, officials said.
