Man arrested following overnight shooting in Greenville
GREENVILLE, Pitt County —
A man is in custody after Greenville Police say he fired several rounds into the air near a Jimmy John's on Cotanche Street early Tuesday morning.
The shooting was reported at 1:45 a.m. The caller stated that the suspect, a white male, left the area in a white Chevy Silverado truck pulling a trailer.
Witnesses identified Jonathan Tyler Williams as the suspect, saying he appeared to be drunk and was being disorderly. He reportedly retrieved a gun from his car and fired several shots in the air.
Officers located Williams in a parking lot near Reade Circle and Dickinson Ave. He was arrested for two misdemeanors: discharging a firearm in city limits and common law going armed to terror of people and received a $3,000 secured bond.
No one was injured in the shooting.
