Local small businesses see big crowds for Small Business Saturday
GREENVILLE, Pitt County - There's close to 900,000 small businesses across North Carolina and many of those are in our area.
Those who work for and own small businesses in Uptown Greenville said that Small Business Saturday was a success.
"It actually gives us a chance to get you know customers who may not know we are here, to get our name out there and let people know that Fire is here, said Catasha "Vette" Bridges, the Catering Director for Fire American Tavern."
Fire is a relatively new small business, as is the market inside Uptown's only design store,Coastal Fog.
"We were worried that this would be a business district and it is all but that," said Julie Dietrich, one of the four co-owners.
She said Small Business Saturday was extremely profitable and hopes the crowds will continue throughout the rest of the holiday shopping season.
Other places like Catalog Connection are looking ahead to Cyber Monday.
Hannah Marshall is the social media coordinator for the store as well as one of the assistant buyers. She said social media helps promote sales as well as redirects customers to the store's website.
"I'll be posting today a lot of outfits that you can get online that we also have in stores, so we'll have that on social media and you can save 25 percent off," said Marshall.
As you continue to shop for the remaining holidays, don't forget to patron the local places.
