Lightning looked at as cause for early morning house fire in Greenville
GREENVILLE, Pitt County - Fire crews responded to a house fire in the 300 block of Eleanor Street in Greenville Wednesday morning.
Dispatchers tell NewsChannel 12 the fire was reported shortly after 5 a.m. at the home near the intersection of Eleanor Street and Fire Tower Road. The house was fully involved when fire crews arrived.
Fire officials tell NewsChannel 12's Ashley Boles the fire may have been caused by lightning. One individual, believed to be the homeowner, was inside at the time the fire broke out, but was able to make it out safely.
