Jacksonville police searching for suspect involved in shooting

Arrest warrants were issued for Michael Jackson Jr., 17, of Jacksonville

Police are searching for a suspect involved a shooting that left a man injured.

Jacksonville police say the shooting happened at 1:30 pm on the the 200 block of Eastwood Drive.

Hakeem Jordan, of Jacksonville, was walking in that area when he encountered a subject known to him, Michael Jackson Jr, also of Jacksonville.

Jordan and Jackson engaged in a verbal altercation, which escalated into Jackson pointing a gun at Jordan.

Jackson fired the gun striking Jordan in the neck.

Jackson fled the area on foot.

Jordan was transported to Onslow Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released.

Detectives have obtained warrants on Jackson for Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill and discharging a firearm in the city limits, in connection with this incident.
