Jacksonville Police investigating early-morning shooting, one injured
JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - One person was shot Thursday morning and the Jacksonville Police Department is investigating.
In a press release, officials said the shooting happened at 2:07 a.m. Thursday at Snug Harbor, 213-A Henderson Drive. Investigators said several individuals were involved in a verbal altercation that resulted in weapons being fired outside the business. The individuals left in several vehicles. One person was shot in the write and transported to Vidant Medical Center in Greenville with non-life threatening injuries.
"We are in the preliminary stages of this active and ongoing investigation and will release more information when we are able to." said Sergeant Mark Ketchum, JPD Investigations Supervisor. "The department appreciates the calls and information received from residents in the neighborhood when the shooting occurred in the early morning hours."
