Jacksonville PD investigating pair of shootings in same area

JACKSONVILLE, Onslow County - The Jacksonville Police Department is investigating a pair of shooting incidents that occurred two days apart in the same 500 block of Elm Street.

On Sunday, May 7, at approximately 3:07 p.m., JPD was called on a report of shots being fired. The investigation found there was an argument and several individuals left the area in a dark-colored four door sedan and began shooting.

Two days later, JPD responded to the same area at 3:49 a.m. for another shots fired call.

The were no injuries reported as the result of either shooting, though there was property damage. JPD says detectives are conducting interviews into the shootings and anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Daniel Gallardo at dgallardo@jacksonvillenc.gov or (910)-389-6420.

Those with information can also contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at (910) 938-2273. Crime Stoppers offers cash reward up to $2,500 for information deemed to be of use to law enforcement.

The May 7 incident is Case 17-4334 and the May 10 incident is Case 17-4419 when calling or texting about these incidents.
