Husband and wife arrested for selling prescription pills, drug trafficking
CHOCOWINITY, Beaufort County - A husband and wife have been arrested after investigators discovered they were involved in the distribution of prescription pain medication.
Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Linda Rivers, 51, and Richard James Garrison, 50, of Gray Road.
The couple has been charged with trafficking in opiates, possession with intent to sell and deliver Oxycodone a schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Their arrest comes after investigators received information that Rivers and Garrison were involved in the distribution of prescription pain medication.
Undercover investigators made purchases of Oxycodone pain pills from the couple, officials confirmed in a press release.
Rivers and Garrison were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $10,000 secured bond.
