GREENVILLE, Pitt County - The City of Greenville Public Works Department will have an unveiling of the trucks that were decorated as part of the third annual Keep the Green in Greenville.

Below is a press release from the City of Greenville on the event:

=====

More of the recycling trucks in Greenville will have a different look soon thanks to the artwork of some local students. The City of Greenville Public Works Department will have an unveiling of the trucks on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 4 p.m., as part of the 3rd Annual "Keep the Green in Greenville" Poster Contest. As part of the contest, K-12 students in public, private, and home schools in Greenville were invited to showcase their artistic talents and their commitment to the environment by creating a promotional poster that effectively and clearly highlighted the importance of recycling. Winners of the contest had their artwork enlarged and displayed on the city's recycling trucks in an effort to promote Greenville's goal of increasing recycling, composting, and buying recycled products and packaging. The community will get its first look at the trucks during Wednesday's unveiling at the Public Works Department, 1500 Beatty Street. Anyone with questions about this event should contact City of Greenville Recycling Coordinator Cheryl Tafoya at 252.329.4048 or ctafoya@greenvillenc.gov.
