Greenville Police investigating early-morning homicide

GREENVILLE, Pitt County - Greenville police are investigating an early morning homicide.

Police say they responded to a call at around 4:30 A.M. Sunday morning to a report of a shooting at the 100 block of Kristin Drive.

When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Reggie Donnell Tyson on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. He was then transported to Vidant Medical Center, where was pronounced dead a short time later.

A preliminary investigation revealed a group of people were gathered outside in the 100 block of Kristin Drive. At some point, a fight broke out and shots were fired. Major Crimes detectives are looking into the possibility the incident is gang related. No other injuries have been reported.
