Greenville police investigate drive-by shooting
GREENVILLE, Pitt County - A road is closed and Greenville Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred near a major intersection in the city limits in broad daylight.
Greenville Police spokesperson Kristen Hunter said details are still coming in, but the department believes the victim is a 22-year-old male, who was shot in what is believed to be a drive-by shooting in the 700 block of Hooker Road. The shooting occurred at roughly 12:45 p.m.
The southbound lanes of Hooker toward Arlington Boulevard will be closed while the investigation is ongoing.
Hunter said the victim was taken to an area hospital by private vehicle, so the department did not have a condition on the victim as of 1:10 p.m.
