GREENVILLE, Pitt County - If you want to help make this a Christmas to remember for kids in the area, there's many locations where you can drop off toys like these.

From now until Dec. 14, you can drop off a new, unwrapped toy to nicely decorated drop boxes all over Pitt County. It's part of the 29th Operation Santa Claus and Greenville Police and Greenville Fire/Rescue along with every Pitt County School has a box. Organizers will distribute the toys to Pitt County children in need.

"It actually helps children in their own classrooms," said Olivia Salter, Ridgewood Elementary School guidance counselor. "They may not know who those kids are of course, but for them to know that they're making a difference for the kids that are actually in their classrooms and their peers, I think it has a great impact for their future and learning to give to others."

The toys will go to the Salvation Army in Pitt County for families who applied to receive gifts this holiday.
